Finance in Aarhus, Denmark

Data-minded student for analytical internship at Danske Commodities A/S

Do you want to be part of a young company where operational excellence and process optimisation are top priorities?

We are looking for two highly skilled interns who want to be a part of an ambitious and talented team in Finance & Accounting during the autumn semester 2017. Both internships consist of project-based work, where you will get in-depth experience in handling and analysing large sets of data.

We are looking for two data-minded and analytical profiles, however, the two internships vary a bit in their main focus:

Analysis & data: One of the internships is mainly concerned with analytical and coding related tasks. Here, you will build a thorough understanding of exchange traded derivatives. The tasks in this internship will enable you to contribute to the team with analysing large sets of data, and ensure that internal and external data are reconciled using VBA, SQL or other coding languages.

Model building: The other internship is focused on building models using VBA, SQL or other coding languages as a part of a larger data project. The tasks will, besides getting experience in building models, enable you to gain insight into the whole value-chain in Danske Commodities - from trades being registered to a customer being invoiced.

Based on your profile, we will match you with the position that we believe would fit you the best, however you are always welcome to state in the application what your main interests are.

In both internships, you will have a mentor working on the same project as you, ensuring you to get full value of your time spend as an intern. Besides having a mentor, you will be a part of a team in Finance & Accounting that is developing rapidly with a high emphasis on challenging the status quo, optimising processes and delivering value to both Finance and Danske Commodities.

We are very flexible in relation to how you structure the hours that is required from the internship – e.g. working 4 or 5 days a week, however we expect that you can start the 1st of September 2017.

Your responsibilities

  • build models that automate tasks and improve data quality using VBA, SQL or other coding languages
  • use and maintain SQL databases that supports F&A with valid, consistent and transparent data
  • gain insight in dc’s data and enterprise architecture
  • ad hoc tasks

Your qualifications

We expect that you:

  • are enrolled at a university level education, preferably within economics or mathematics
  • knowledge of VBA or other coding languages is an advantage for both positions, but not a requirement
  • are logically thinking and mathematically well grounded
  • work analytically and structured
  • are reliable and quality conscious

Personal skills

We expect that you:

  • want to and are able to make a difference for your closest stakeholders
  • are independent, active, efficient and dynamic
  • take responsibility and are willing to walk the extra mile
  • see opportunities where others see problems
  • take a positive view: No job too big, no job too small
  • live the dc values

We offer

  • professional and personal challenges in an international environment
  • skilled colleagues who set the bar high
  • great career opportunities
  • office in the heart of Aarhus
  • a job where no two days are the same
  • a company committed to creating value
