Studying: European Business Law
Position: Junior Legal Assistant
Employed since: June 2019
Fun fact: I have never seen a single Star Wars movie
I’m originally from Herning and moved to Aarhus in relation with beginning my studies at Aarhus University. I have a bachelor in Economics and Business Administration and Business Law (ha.jur). I’m currently doing my masters in European Business Law at Aarhus University as well.
I come from a family where business has been a topic of discussion at the dinner table, seeing as my father is the Sales Director of one of the largest aluminum gravity die casting companies in Europe, which my great-grandfather founded. Therefore, I have always had an interest in different market structures, business dynamics and the legal aspect of these topics.
I was looking for a student job. which was relevant to my studies.
I have always been interested in the combination of business and law and found that DC was a company where I could get both perspectives at the same time. Furthermore, it was a dynamic and young organization – and that really spoke to me.
Mette Thornvig Heiselberg, Junior Legal Assistant
I work closely with my colleagues in Compliance with the development of internal guidelines and agreements. The purpose is to maintain compliance with the regulations that are relevant to DC as a company. Examples of these regulations could be GDPR or Market Abuse Regulations.
I usually have a ‘To Do’ list laying ready on my table with some tasks that I need to either complete during the day or need to be aware of. These tasks can be points such as:
I also might have some meetings either with my colleagues in compliance or with colleagues from other departments seeing as compliance has a broad outlook on the whole DC organization and therefore cooperates with a lot of the teams in DC.
I love the fact that I am able to have a lot of responsibility and that I have a diverse working day with different types of tasks. This allows me to have a flexible and exciting day of work every time I meet up at the office.
I also love the nature of my work since the topics that I work with are ones I find both challenging and super interesting.
