Meet Michal Stoklasa

Studying: Value Chain Management
Position: Junior Process Improvement & Automation Consultant
Employed since: January 2020
Fun fact: I almost quit my job at HPE to become a professional cook

MY BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in Slovakia, and after I graduated high school when I was 19, I decided to go to Denmark and study. I chose Denmark because I thought it's a great opportunity to find out how to live my life on my own without going to visit my parents every weekend with dirty laundry. I was in Denmark for two years studying Value Chain Management in Horsens, and most of that time I was also working as a dishwasher in a restaurant in Aarhus named Gastronome. The I left for my internship in Slovakia for one and a half years. I did my internship in Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bratislava, which is the capitol of Slovakia.

WHY I WANTED TO WORK FOR DC

I have wanted to work at DC for the past two years. I only found out about it by accident, but when I looked more into what DC does and saw how motivated the people are, I became very interested. Learning about trading and financial markets is something I also really like and with DC doing what DC does, it became pretty clear to me that DC is a great place to work.

WHAT I DO

I am part of the Business Analysis team and my task is to use a software called Blue Prism to create robots that will automate processes that normally require a human to handle them. thereby freeing people of some tedious tasks and giving them the opportunity to spend time where it's really needed.

MY TYPICAL WORK DAY

Most of my days are spent with my fellow colleagues in the automation team. We cooperate heavily with the other units in DC as they are the future end users of our tools. So, if we are currently not working on a robot, we are meeting with the other teams trying to identify potential opportunities for automation and trying to understand what their work looks like so the tool we create is as robust as possible.
