Studying: Business Intelligence

Employed since: August 2020
Fun fact: My first job was as a singing princess at kids' parties
I was born in Argentina and grew up in Australia, Spain and Indonesia. When the time came to choose a degree to study, I decided to make a strategic move and took on a BA in International Business in Germany. During my Bachelor's, I spent time studying and working in The Netherlands, Norway and Scotland and ultimately finished it back in Germany. I worked for a while in invoicing in Germany, but decided I was not ready to stop studying. So, in the summer of 2020, I packed my bags and moved up to Aarhus to take on the next challenge: a Master's in Business Intelligence at Aarhus BSS.
I knew I wanted to work for a flexible, data-driven and enabling company that would help me develop my professional skillset. When I started the job search I came across DC’s podcast and thought ‘it sounds like a pretty good place to work at’ and I was right.
Milagros Lopez Estergaard Jacobsen, Junior Analyst
I mostly support the monitoring and minimising of economic risk to which DC is exposed against the other companies it does business with.
I usually begin by running some morning routines in which I track any potential breaches of credit lines and send reports to brokers and traders. During the day I keep track of the margin calls. Once the 'routine stuff' is done, I spend the remaining of my time building and maintaining tools to optimise processes in the Credit Risk unit.
I keep on learning new things every day. I got responsibilities from day one, and feel the trust put upon me which has kept me both challenged and engaged. My team is very encouraging in regards to my personal development and extremely flexible, making for a really easy alignment between university commitments and work.
The success of our company is built on having the brightest minds working across the entire organisation.
