Fun fact: I once accidentally killed a flying bird with a golf ball - it actually got stuck inside the bird
After I completed my Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, I have worked more than 10 years as a consultant within the IT field of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. My consulting career has allowed me to work for many of the largest companies in Denmark before joining DC.
With my background, I wanted to work for a company that was truly data-driven, so I could apply my experience in a way that would have a significant impact on key aspects of the business. Additionally, I find the energy trading business very interesting.
Michael Barrett, Senior Business Intelligence Practice Manager
DC is a very data-driven company and I get to work with many parts of the business in order for me and my colleagues in the Business Intelligence team to meet the data and information needs. Most of my time is spent on projects that aim to structure existing data in a better and more accessible way or provide the business with data to support new business areas. We work with large amounts of data, so a lot of time also goes into ensuring that it can be used in a fast and efficient manner.
My work day is very dependent on the project I am working on and what stage of the project we are in. In the early phases of large projects for instance, we spend a lot of time in meetings in order to align requirements and design the right IT solutions. In later phases, I spend a lot of time on development tasks. Finally, sparring with my colleagues on their tasks is also an important part of my work day.
I get to work with some of the most skilled and pleasant people you can imagine. Also, I feel I am able to influence the way we do things in DC in an important way.
The success of our company is built on having the brightest minds working across the entire organisation.
