Fun fact: I used to be a professional poker player
In most of my life the common denominator has been the passion for competition – whether it was as an elite runner in my teenage years, as a poker player during my twenties or just beating my friends in different games.
Because I like to compete and challenge myself - and I was told this was a really good place to do all that.
Mads Knudsen, Gas trader
I’m trading natural gas in most of Europe. Trading gas in DC is not only buying cheap and selling expensive, but also supplying the markets that are in need of gas and to make sure that the gas is safely moved from one market to another. We work day and night, every day of the week – every week of the year.
A typical day starts with reading news, analysing the markets and creating a preliminary strategy. Throughout the day, we might have to adjust our strategy multiple times if new information comes up. We are not always trading, but also spending time to research new opportunities in the still rather old-fashioned gas industry.
I really enjoy the atmosphere. Sometimes the markets are really busy and we are all extremely focused and all communication is fast and direct. At other times the markets are more calm and we have time to have fun while helping each other become better traders.
The success of our company is built on having the brightest minds working across the entire organisation.
