Senior Strategic Business Developer

Do you have a strong record in the energy business and are you looking for a new challenge? Right now, we are seeking a Senior Strategic Business Developer for our Commercial Business Development team, that has an analytical mindset and are passionate about the energy markets.

As a Senior Strategic Business Developer, your main responsibility will be to analyse the market, keeping up to date with specific energy market trends and identify new business ideas. This work plays an important role in our corporate strategy work as well as qualified investment decisions.

As a person you find it natural to ask questions and challenge existing processes, you have a structured approach to your work and are not afraid to take responsibility where it is needed. Professionally, you have minimum 3 years of experience within the energy or trading business and are ready to use your quantitative skills in one of Europe’s leading energy trading companies.  

Your responsibilities

  • develop a corporate view on long term trends in the market
  • procure external analysis to support strategic decisions
  • identify and evaluate new business ideas
  • manage and participate in business development and implementation projects
  • analyze energy prices to support investment and other strategic decisions
  • develop and maintain financial evaluation models
  • retrieve and analyze market data using quantitative methods
  • incorporate analytical views into corporate and unit strategies
  • develop and prepare presentation material, pitches and speeches
  • collaboration with the strategy team in high seasons

Your qualifications

We expect that you:

  • have a minimum 3 years' experience in the energy or trading business with a proven record-set
  • hold a university level education within economics, engineering or similar or have experience from the energy or financial sector
  • have strong analytical and quantitative skills and can analyze complex structures, preferably with experience in non-linear products
  • are fluent in the English language and preferably in one or more of the Scandinavian languages (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish)
  • have a competitive, innovative and creative mind-set
  • have experience with MS Excel and VBA
  • can skillfully disseminate information
