Analyst for ambitious Trading team

As our business is growing, we are looking to expand our analytical capabilities in the Power Markets department with an analyst. The right candidate for this position is ambitious, have great programming skills, can thrive in a hectic trading environment – and preferably have experience from the market.

In the job you will be expected to quickly deliver in our existing setup and expand it across geography and commodities in close corporation with experienced analysts and traders. Your main responsibilities will be to understand and interpret market fundamentals and drivers, and to deliver structured analysis and price forecasts to traders and other analysts.

You will join a team of highly dedicated and skilled colleagues who are constantly challenging themselves and each other to be better than they were yesterday. So if you have a winning attitude and a curious mind-set always looking to optimise and improve, you might be exactly the analyst we are looking for. 

Responsibilities

  • develop and maintain market fundamental models  as well as price forecasting models in Python, Excel VBA and MSSQL
  • continuously keep yourself up-to-date with energy market fundamentals
  • proactively share and push your market views to traders and other analysts
  • be involved in cross-commodity analysis
  • develop and implement trading strategies
  • challenge your expertise and knowledge about European energy market fundamentals
  • contribute to the overall analytical innovation in the Power Markets department

Qualifications

We expect that you: 

  • have experience from Energy Markets
  • hold a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or similar
  • experience from coal and gas would be a plus
  • have extensive programming experience (VBA, Python, SQL, R, Matlab or similar)
  • are fluent in English – written and oral
