Senior Trader for Power Markets

Danske Commodities is searching for result-driven Senior Trader to our ambitious Power Markets team. We are looking for a candidate that is eager to make a difference in the team, and who thrives in a sometimes hectic environment where performance demands are high. 

Your primary responsibility will be to trade power in the Southern part of Europe, develop trading strategies and contribute actively to the development in the team. Further, you are also expected to use correlated products such as coal, gas and emissions for hedging. You will be a part of the newly established Cross Commodity team.

The right candidate for this position has experience with Power Trading from a similar position or experience with other forms of relevant trading. As a trader you always look for new opportunities, are curious and always go the extra mile to reach your goal.

Responsibilities

  • trade power in Southern part of Europe, especially Italy and Hungary
  • use correlated products such as coal, gas and emissions for hedging
  • make sure that all origination business has market access in the Italian market
  • build up a good cooperation with our Structured Trading and the Emerging Markets teams
  • build up knowhow and sharpen our edge in the traded markets
  • be updated on relevant news and regulatory updates
  • develop trading strategies for better risk/reward ratio
  • participate actively in development of the trading set-up and value-adding tools in close cooperation with the rest of the Power Markets including close corporation with Traders and Power Analysts 
  • participate in the development and execution of the Cross Commodity strategy
  • active sparring with the traders in the team to ensure world class performance
  • develop your own book with focus on the Italian and Hungarian markets
  • proactively identify, propose and develop profitable trading opportunities adding value to the already existing business areas
  • ensure alignment and support progress with both internal and external stakeholders
  • contribute to the development of the team in a constructive and proactive manner

Qualifications

We expect that you:

  • preferably, have at least 3-5 years of experience in trading Italian/Hungarian markets
  • have a proven track record in trading
  • are a good team player and a high performer 
  • have a good command of English both written and verbal
  • can keep a cool head in hectic situations
  • can identify risks and manage them professionally
