Market Risk Analyst for Danske Commodities

In Danske Commodities we have a high focus on our Risk Management and we are therefore looking for another highly-skilled colleague for our Market Risk Management team.

In the Market Risk Management team we constantly face new challenges as we move into new business areas. The purpose of the team is that we shall enable sustainable business growth by ensuring an optimised risk/return profile in line with the defined risk appetite and the defined risk guidelines and policies. At the same time the Market Risk Management team is a company watchdog ensuring that we stay in business tomorrow. 

Starting in team, your primary responsibility will be to look into our Gas Business, where your tasks evolve around daily monitoring of positions and mandates, daily reporting of profit and loss, and in general ensure that market risk exposure are fully understood, managed and reported to relevant stakeholders in due time. As part of Market Risk Management you will quickly get your own tasks and projects, where we expect you to take responsibility. The team works closely with the rest of our Risk Management team, and your colleagues will be highly-skilled energy professionals with a passion for what they do and a constant drive to always make a difference.


  • daily monitoring and understanding of positions and mandates including StopLoss
  • daily reporting of profit and loss
  • ensure that market risk exposures are fully understood, managed and reported to relevant stakeholders in due time
  • implement and maintain best practices within analysing, measuring and monitoring market risk
  • engagement in existing and new business activities in collaboration with relevant stakeholders across DC
  • develop risk analyses, reports and setup or approve limits on existing and new products and business strategies
  • assess market risk in new product approvals and business cases
  • develop stress tests and scenario analyses
  • act as back-up on other team related tasks


We expect that you:

  • hold a relevant master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or similar
  • preferably, have experience within the energy sector - and experience within Gas trading or the financial sector is an advantage
  • preferably, have experience within Market Risk management
  • are a super user of excel, and preferably also have experience with VBA, SQL and/or PowerBI
  • have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are able to analyse complex structures
  • have a good command of English both oral and written
