Senior UK Originator for Danske Commodities

Your primary tasks will be to manage existing customer relations with renewable developers, investors and utilities. Further, you will be expected to identify and establish new business opportunities matching the competencies of Danske Commodities. In this job, you will be working out of London, having great freedom of responsibility and a real opportunity to have an impact on the business.

The ideal candidate for this position has therefore a strong commercial drive, great experience in the energy sector, including a solid track-record of execution and an existing network in the UK. Responsibilities

  • manage existing customer relations with renewable developers, investors, and utilities
  • identify and establish new business that fits company competencies and risk appetite. This could include VPP’s and Corporate PPA’s
  • cover the whole value chain from initial customer contact, to negotiation and onboarding
  • identify and negotiate strategic partnerships in segments where such business model is relevant
  • engage with the DC trading teams to understand what positions they want on their books

Qualifications

We expect that you:

  • have +5 years of experience in the energy sector
  • have an existing network amongst funds, large industrials and trading companies
  • have a strong understanding of trading and the power markets
  • have a strong understanding of the UK certificates market, including ROCs, REGOs and GOs
  • have an ability to identify business opportunities and executing on them
  • ideally, have cross-country experience and understanding
  • preferably, have experience with the Irish market, however not a requirement
