Commercial Business Developer for Danske Commodities

As a Commercial Business Developer in Danske Commodities, you will be responsible for driving and supporting new commercial business development activities between Danske Commodities and our parent company Equinor.

Danske Commodities is one of the most successful European companies within energy trading and right now, we are looking to welcome two highly skilled colleagues to our newly established Commercial Business Development team. In the job, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing market and commodity data for use in long-term planning and decision making. You will also develop and maintain go-to-market strategies and apply financial modelling to support investment decisions.

As a person, you enjoy working with various stakeholders, and will be working closely together with the business teams in Danske Commodities as well as Equinor. By nature, you have a curious mind and are not afraid to ask questions and challenge existing processes, as this will be the key to finding new great development opportunities. We are looking to add two new colleagues to the team, and we have plenty of challenges for you, no matter if you have only had a few years of experience in the energy industry or you are a more senior profile with a robust tool box and extensive knowledge. Regardless of your experience level, you will work closely together with the rest of your colleagues to ensure that the Commercial Business Development team succeed in pursuing the best development opportunities.

  • gain comprehensive insight and understanding of Danske Commodities’ business and operating model with a key focus on power trading and physical asset management
  • monitor energy market trends and develop new strategic commercial business opportunities in close cooperation with the rest of the team
  • collect market data, conduct market screenings including competitor intelligence and develop go-to-market strategies
  • support with advising and assessing strategic commercial business opportunities between Danske Commodities and Equinor
  • develop and present PowerPoint presentations with fact-based recommendations to Equinor, DC’s Senior Management Group and other stakeholders to help with decision-making


We expect that you:

  • hold a relevant master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or similar
  • have a strong understanding of power market fundamentals and are preferably able to model renewable assets value drivers and risks
  • have between 2-5 years of experience from the energy sector, preferably within power trading or portfolio management of renewable assets
  • possess strong analytical skills and are able to explain your analyses in a clear manner
  • have a good command of English, both written and oral - and preferably an additional European language
  • have excellent skills within PowerPoint and Excel
