Experienced Gas Trader for our London or Aarhus office

We are currently searching for an experienced Gas Trader, who is full of energy and eager to be part of our ambitious Gas Trading & Optimisation team. With gas trading activities in most of Europe and a wide-ranging reach through our owner, Equinor, we offer a unique opportunity to join a company on an ambitious growth trajectory.

Who are we?
The Gas Trading & Optimisation team covers a broad spectrum of commercial activities in the European gas markets, delivering outstanding results through a diversified long-term portfolio. We manage a large-scale flexibility and transport portfolio, complemented by structured products and business development activities in mature and emerging gas markets across Europe. We are eager to scale our current activies and expand our business into new areas in Europe and beyond.

You will join a team of highly motivated and driven individuals, who love a bit of friendly competition. We like to be open towards new opportunities and challenges - and “no” is not part of our vocabulary. We are situated both in London and Aarhus, making for a well-diversified team of specialists across commercial, analytical and quantitative domains. In this job, you will be working out of London or Aarhus, with a great deal of responsibility and a real opportunity to make an impact on the business.

Your development journey
Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the team, your tasks and our portfolio. You will be introduced to our way of thinking and executing in the market, after which you will start to manage our positions on the forward market. The introduction period will be 3-6 months in Aarhus, upon which the work location can either be London or Aarhus going forward. On the longer term, you willbe the driver of developing and executing trading strategies around our portfolio and responsible for delivering market insights to the team. We expect you to become an integral part of the team and to deliver value through your commercial expertise and understanding of our vision.

The right candidate for this position has a strong commercial drive and great experience within the gas market, including a solid track record of execution. As a person you are ambitious, energetic and always hungry for the next challenge.

We expect that you:

  • hold a relevant master’s degree in international business, finance, economics or similar
  • have minimum 2-3 years’ experience from a similar position
  • are fluent in English – both written and verbal, further languages are a plus
