Executive Assistant to VP, Head of European gas trading

As Executive Assistant to our VP, Head of European Gas Trading, you will provide management support, including strategy planning and execution, contribute to business development and provide sound advice to the leadership team in European Gas Trading.

Proactive go-getter with a knack for planning, execution and strategy

We imagine that you have 2-3 years of relevant experience either from a similar position, from a trading company or from working in consulting. You have a well-founded project execution toolbox, you are used to thinking strategically and combined with your great stakeholder management and communications skills, you are ready take on your next challenge.

Your first assignment and further professional journey

Starting out, you will get an introduction to the European Gas Trading unit, your tasks and our strategy. If you have little or no prior experience with gas markets, the first period will be dedicated to understanding our business areas and their fundamental mechanisms and dynamics. Your first assignment will be to assist drafting and implementing the 2022 strategy for the gas unit. On the longer term, you will act as a strategic advisor to the VP and play a significant role in further developing the unit, driving the strategy execution process and supporting corporate-level decision-making.

You will experience a steep learning curve by being exposed to the unique interface between energy trading, commercial analysis and management support

  • proactively provide advice and support to the VP, Head of European Gas Trading, regarding organisational, strategic and tactical opportunities and challenges
  • take part in strategy development and execution
  • contribute to the team’s business development
  • prepare research, analyses and forecasts on business cases and commercial trends
  • assist in setting and following up on targets and KPIs 
  • help facilitate management meetings, including strategic discussions and confidential matters
  • prepare agendas and presentations for regular management meetings and organisation-wide gatherings
  • assist in reporting to the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership and CEO
  • support with both smaller and bigger ad hoc tasks and analyses


  • have a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, SOL or similar
  • have 2-3 years of experience from a similar position, from a trading company – or from consultancy or the financial sector
  • are an experienced user of MS Office (Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  • have a good command of English, both written and verbal
  • have great communication skills
  • respect confidentiality

  • are outgoing and have strong stakeholder management skills – even though you will work independently, you will also collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders in the organisation
  • are detail-oriented and have a structured approach to solving problems. Among other things, you will work with tasks that require analyses used for decision-making
  • take a holistic approach to the job and provide a high level of service, no matter the size of the task – to succeed, you need to see opportunities where others see challenges
