Business Controlling at Danske Commodities (DC)

In the Business Controlling Portfolio Management team, our primary task is to calculate P&L for the trading teams, ensure precise settlement of renewable contracts and handle monthly closing. We support the trading teams on various tasks to make sure the setup is as efficient as possible. For DC’s German wind portfolio, we have a close collaboration with our German colleague who is located in Germany. We support with reconciliation of metering data, answering questions from the costumers, onboarding of new wind farms and other ad hoc tasks. As or new student employee, you will join a young and ambitious team that likes to set the bar high and challenge the status quo. Student employee to support German market changes

We are looking for a student employee who is fluent in German as many of the operators and customers in Germany prefer to speak German. You will work in close collaboration with our German originator and the business controller for Germany. In this role, you will support a new market change in Germany, and you will play a big role in succeeding with correct settlement based on the change. To succeed in the job, we expect you to be outgoing and service-minded. At the same time, you also pay attention to detail to ensure that the numbers in settlement and P&L calculations are correct. 
 

Your journey to become our new student employee

No matter your level of experience, you will get a thorough introduction to DC, the team and our role in Finance & Accounting. This includes introduction and training in SQL and VBA. In addition, you will get an in-depth introduction to the German market, the controlling setup, the new market change and the tasks that you will be solving. On the longer run, you will be involved in various tasks and work independently on optimising our existing setup. You will also be given the opportunity to find areas to improve on your own.

You will receive great responsibility and acquire in-depth knowledge of our finance processes and trading business – all while being surrounded by ambitious and positive colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • support settlement of DSOs and customers in Germany based on the new market change
  • optimise existing finance processes using VBA, SQL or Power BI
  • support on various tasks for the German portfolio
  • find new areas to improve and optimise

Qualifications

We expect that you:

  • are fluent in German
  • are enrolled at a university-level education, preferably within Economics
  • want to learn to code in SQL
  • want to and are able to make a difference for your closest stakeholders
  • are able to provide a high level of service
