Strategy & Communications at Danske Commodities

Danske Commodities (DC) is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 8,500 trades across 39 countries. We help enable the energy transition by making green energy more profitable and constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. DC is a wholly owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under our own name and brand.

Strategy & Communications is a key staff function at DC, reporting directly to the CEO. The team plays a dual role, covering both corporate strategy and communications. On the strategy side, we handle the development and execution of DC’s company strategy, including commercial advisory, management support and reporting to the Board of Directors. On the communications side, we are responsible for all aspects of DC’s brand, including media relations, online and offline marketing, sustainability initiatives, employer branding and internal communications. The duality of the team is also reflected in the team members. Some of us have a background in Business, some in Corporate Communications, one is a journalist and we even have an architect in the team (long story), but we all share an uncompromising drive to take DC’s brand and business to new heights. A unique student job opportunity to become a marketing wiz  

Working closely with your colleagues, you will help with the execution of DC’s employer branding strategy, including coordination of job fairs, and help with content development for our social media and website. On the longer term, you will be responsible for your own projects related to employer branding, marketing campaigns and wherever your competencies and interests can create value for the company. Maybe you’re keen to hone your digital skills, explore external media relations – or even dabble in corporate strategy and management support? We’re open to going in many different directions and believe that the best results are created through a passionate approach. Responsibilities

  • support the execution of our employer branding strategy, including coordination of job fairs and student events
  • help with content development for social media, website and print material
  • contribute to internal and external campaigns, from concept development to execution
  • support business teams with marketing deliverables targeting energy producers and large-scale consumers
  • assist with ad hoc tasks in Strategy & Communications team

Qualifications

We expect that you:

  • are enrolled in a relevant university degree within Corporate Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Media Studies or similar
  • have excellent English copywriting and grammar skills
  • preferably, have experience from a previous position working with marketing, employer branding, events or similar
  • are fluent in English – both written and verbal

We expect that you:

  • are proactive and outgoing – you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation and represent DC at fairs
  • are detail-oriented and employ a structured approach – besides supporting the team on various tasks, you will be responsible for your own projects and drive the process from start to finish
  • are curious by nature and hungry for new skills – the team covers a wide range of responsibilities from creative marketing campaigns to in-house podcast and video production to corporate strategy development and executive-level advisory
  • take a positive view: no job too big, no job too small – we always help each other in getting the job done
