Danske Commodities (DC) is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 8500 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. Backed by an energy major, we are a wholly owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under our own name and brand.
 

Origination at DC – linking the business with its customers

Origination is part of DC’s Global Trading & Market Development and we are here to shape the future of energy trading. You will join the customer-facing unit in DC; the Origination team is the link between Physical Asset Management and Trading on one hand and Business Relationship Management on the other hand. As the link to our customers (energy producers like wind farms and solar parks), you will conduct analyses, assist with development of new business strategies, connect supply and demand by being on top of regulatory changes and help market our products and services.

Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the team, your tasks and our business principles. Your first assignment will be to get introduced to our customer base, the onboarding process and your stakeholders. Together with your colleagues, you will prepare the customer base for the next years, according to the commercial arrangements. On the long-term, you will be the commercial focal point towards our customers, including asset owners and industrials.

Responsibilities

  • manage existing customer relations with renewables asset owners in Germany
  • drive stakeholder management both internally and externally
  • follow the data/information flow thoroughly
  • optimise and automate work processes  
  • assist in on-boarding/off-boarding customer processes
  • ensure that work processes are executed flawlessly
  • support with ad hoc tasks (administrative, analysis, research on regulation changes, lead creation, etc.)

Qualifications

We expect that you:

  • have a background in business administration, finance, international business, economics, engineering or similar
  • preferably, have experience or are interested in the (renewable) energy sector
  • are a German native speaker
  • are fluent in English – both written and verbal
  • if you speak Danish it is a great add on, but not a requirement

  • are independent and a self-starter as well as a team collaborator – you will join a team, but you will also need to work independently on some tasks
  • are proactive and outgoing – as you will cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation nationally and internationally

  • take a holistic approach to the job and provide a high level of service, no matter the size of the task – as we service and support multiple stakeholders
