Ambitious Student Employee to support our European gas unit

Would you like to work on one of the most successful energy trading floors in Europe? Are you detail-oriented and have a good understanding of numbers? And do you take pride in being quality conscious in everything you do? Then you might be exactly who we are looking for.

Join our European Gas Trading team

Danske Commodities is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 8500 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. DC is a wholly-owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under its own name and brand.

Our European Gas Trading team focuses on gas trading in Europe and digitalisation of the gas value chain, including automated trading. Owned by one of the world’s largest energy companies, we are the nimble trader backed by a giant. With Equinor in our corner, we have the necessary financial strength to break down the door to new markets, add scale and increase risk taking with stronger credit lines and an increased mandate. Our team is one of the most innovative and high performing gas trading teams in Europe – and as part of the team, you will experience a high degree of flexibility and responsibility, working side by side with passionate energy professionals from all over the world.

Help improve our core trading system

As our new student employee, you will start out by getting a thorough introduction to your tasks and the team, understanding their individual roles and contributions. To ensure you get the best possible start, you will be introduced to the basic ideas of trading, the operational daily tasks supporting it and our current core trading system, from where many of your tasks will stem. Your primary tasks are to ensure high quality of our core data and furthermore be an important player in optimising various workflow activities. Here, you will have a close dialogue with our finance department to align different trading activities.

You will get a unique opportunity to dive into the engine of one of Europe’s most successful energy trading companies and get an insight into the world of trading.
