Analytical and service-minded student employee with a commercial mindset

Are you an innate problem-solver and do you enjoy having hands-on customer interaction? And are you equally passionate about numbers, data and the opportunity to optimise our business through analysis? Then you might be just who we need to support DC’s portfolio of conventional assets.

Welcome to Physical Asset Management

Danske Commodities (DC) is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 8500 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. DC is a wholly-owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under our own name and brand.

Physical Asset Management is a young and passionate team who manages all aspects of DC’s flexible asset portfolio across Europe. Our key tasks include daily operations, customer service, pricing & forecasting and asset optimisation. Each portfolio manager is an expert within one or several markets, and as a team we cover several asset types, working closely together with traders and originators to enhance the performance of the portfolio as well as setting the strategic direction going forward. As a team, we always challenge ourselves to be the best. Together with our owner Equinor, we want to drive the energy transition forward. And that is not a small task. Taking on this challenge means working in a high-paced environment, employing the skills of the best and brightest and being willing to go the extra mile.

Make analytical forecasts and support our portfolio of conventional assets

As a student employee, you will start out by getting a thorough introduction to the energy market as well as our ways of working. One of your main responsibilities will be to support the daily operations of our conventional portfolio and provide our customers with support as you reply to incoming calls and emails from our Danish and Norwegian customers. With a strong focus on friendly and informative service, you will help them with questions about optimising their asset or help them navigate our proprietary software. Since we provide support to our customers 24/7, you should expect to get calls out of office hours when you are on call.

Additionally, you will supply the rest of your team with analyses and forecasts, empowering us to make better decisions and optimise strategies. In time, you will also get to turn your analytical knowledge into useable software as we teach you how to build tools to enhance our operational and technical setup. We don’t expect you to have knowledge of the energy market, but expect that you are eager to learn, structured, able to find creative solutions and grow with the responsibility of the job.

You will get the best conditions to grow as we invest a lot in your professional advancement. Actually, most of us started here as student employees.
