Executive Assistant with a strategic mindset

We are looking for a new executive assistant for our VP, Head of Global Trading & Market Development as the current EA is stepping up to head our global business development efforts.

Danske Commodities (DC) is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, we complete more than 15,000 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. DC is a wholly-owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under our own name and brand.

Our Global Trading & Market Development unit is spearheading DC’s global expansion and commercial growth with Equinor, which is one of the world’s largest energy companies. Strategic thinker with strong communications skills

We imagine that you have 2-3 years of relevant experience either from a similar position, from consulting or from the financial sector. From this experience, you have developed a well-founded strategy toolbox, a solid understanding of stakeholder management and strong communications skills. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is familiar with key strategic processes and can take part in building and defining a strong culture in a young unit. What we do is a team sport, and we want to foster a culture where we support each other and win together.

Your journey to becoming an integral part of our strategy execution

Starting out, you will get an introduction to the Global Trading & Market Development unit, DC in general, your tasks and our strategy. Your first assignment will be to follow up on the unit strategy and support the VP on daily tasks. On the longer term, you will act as a strategic sparring partner and play a significant role in developing the unit, driving the strategy execution process and supporting corporate-level decision-making.   • support the development and execution of strategy for Global Trading & Market Development, including team strategies within the unit
  • plan and facilitate leadership offsites and team events
  • advise and support on strategic, tactical and operational opportunities and challenges
  • proactively contribute to leadership communication, including preparation of an annual framework for regular meetings and communication points
  • use your stakeholder management skills to further strengthen the culture and team spirit in the unit
  • share our successes internally and externally in close collaboration with the Strategy & Communications team


We expect that you:

  • hold a relevant master’s degree in International Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy & Leadership or similar
  • have 2-3 years of experience from a similar position, alternatively from management consulting or the financial sector
  • are an experienced user of MS Office (Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  • have great communications skills as we work with many different stakeholders across DC and Equinor
  • are fluent in English – both written and verbal

  • are detail-oriented and have a structured approach to solving problems – you will work with tasks that require factual analyses used for executive-level decision-making
  • are outgoing and have strong interpersonal skills – even though you will work independently, you will also collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation
