Business Developer to be part of building flexible asset management business

Become part of building a new business area

Danske Commodities (DC) is an energy trading company that specialises in short-term power and gas trading and offers balancing, optimisation and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Every day, the company completes more than 15,000 trades across 39 countries, constantly moving energy from where there is more than needed to where it is needed most. DC is a wholly-owned subsidiary to Norwegian energy company Equinor, operating under our own name and brand.

Our Flexible Asset Management team is a brand-new team at DC. We aim to bring flexible assets (such as batteries) to the power and ancillary service markets, on the back-bone of our strong short-term and automated trading capabilities. Our ambition is to actively support the green transition by making flexibility (over/under-produced power) available and provide Equinor and other investors the security that their assets are dispatched to the absolute optimum. This new business area complements our large renewable portfolio across Europe of more than 6,000 MW and we want to cover the market extensively with a wide range of energy market services.

Join a team that collaborates across the entire energy trading value chain

You will join a newly established team that works closely with our colleagues and friends across teams like Intraday Power Trading, Automated Trading, Origination and Software Development. We always take a creative approach to problem-solving and we describe ourselves as clear communicators, passionate about power markets and 100% committed to succeed as a team.

A secured onboarding with increasing responsibility along with your development

No matter your level of experience, we will make sure you get a solid onboarding to get you off to the best possible start. Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to DC’s flexible asset management vision, our strategy and DC’s power trading business. Shortly after your onboarding, you will get to know all your stakeholders and become an essential ‘go-to’ team member who can explain a complex business area to different audiences. We have an ambitious target and timeline for the Flexible Asset Management team, and you will have numerous tasks of varying complexity that help you learn on the job. Once you are settled, you will have a significant role in driving our business development forward, taking more responsibility as we progress. We will match the business’ needs with your capabilities and interests through an individual development plan – this way, we empower you to make a real impact.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a new business area. A 360-degree steep learning curve with fun along the way is guaranteed!
