Vacancy

Student employee for Power Trading Operations

Are you curious about the field of coding? Does finding new ways to optimise processes intrigue you? And do you have an interest in the financial markets? Then joining our Power Trading Operations team might be the ideal way for you to jumpstart your career.
Put your skills to the test in a young and innovative team
In our Power Trading Operations (PTO) team, we support the trading teams with their daily tasks such as deal capturing, requesting capacities, uploading bids and scheduling of electricity flows to ensure balance in national power grids. Besides this, we develop business tools using various coding languages. Finally, the team has a great focus on process optimisation, and we always look for areas where we – and the traders – can become even more efficient.

As a student employee in PTO, you will be working closely together with your skilled colleagues in the team, power traders, portfolio managers and trading analysts. Working directly on the trading floor, you will also be the link between trading and the rest of the organisation. In the team, we have a lot of deadlines to meet, and with that comes a great amount of responsibility and respect for the work that needs to be done. You will join a young team, in which many of your colleagues are motivated student employees like yourself.

Dive head-first into the control room
Starting out, you will get an introduction to the team, and from day one you will enter the control room and support the traders in performing their daily tasks. During the beginning, your focus will be on the daily routines in PTO and learning how to navigate your new role. In the longer run, you will be able to advance your skills within VBA, SQL and Python as you will use these languages to develop and maintain our business tools. In addition, you will have the opportunity to impact and optimise the everyday work in PTO and the way we support the trading teams. The right candidate for this position thrives in a dynamic environment and considers coding and process optimisation a natural part of the job.

You will be right in the middle of the magical place where our trades are executed, which gives you a unique understanding of the business.
