Vacancy

Experienced middle office professional to be part of building energy trading desk in São Paulo

Would you like to be part of enabling the energy transition in Brazil? And do you have the entrepreneurial mindset to build a middle office function together with our Head of Brazil Power Trading? Right now, we are looking for a colleague to support the build-up of our price and risk models as we set up an energy trading desk in São Paulo.
Danske Commodities in Brazil

Danske Commodities (DC) is currently building a trading desk in Brazil, and we are looking for the next colleague to join this journey and make a real difference. In DC Brazil, we will handle all power trading related to Equinor’s activities in Brazil. We are right now building the necessary capabilities and systems to enable an efficient and profitable power trading desk in Brazil as well as being the route-to-market for Equinor’s renewables assets.

Play a vital role in building price, risk and model setup for Brazilian energy markets

Together with our Head of Brazil Power Trading, you will play an important role in setting the dream team and building the setup for our São Paulo office. Together with the Head of Brazil Power Trading and the project team in Denmark, you will be responsible for building the middle office models of the trading desk, engaging with relevant stakeholders across Equinor and DC, such as our experienced Risk Management and Meteorology teams, to establish proper trading models to handle Equinor’s renewables portfolio and DC’s power trading activities in Brazil.

Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the business case and the project plan. Once you have gained a thorough understanding of the energy trading models, you will play a vital role in establishing tools and risk parameters in collaboration with the project to establish the trading desk. On the longer term, you will be responsible for running our price models and following the regulatory agenda in Brazil to produce reports and scenarios directly influencing our trading strategies.

You will play an important role in DC’s global expansion journey, as you take part in building a trading desk in Brazil and contribute to the value creation for DC, Equinor and society.
