Meet the team
You will join our Short-Term Gas Trading & Operations team dedicated to maximising value within the (sometimes very) volatile short-term gas markets. We blend a data-driven approach with an efficient setup that integrates trading and operations, which positions us to capture opportunities and restore energy balances close to delivery. We trade around the clock every day of the year and are always looking to grow our presence in natural gas — and backed by Equinor, we have the necessary financial capacity to enter new markets.
Our team blends trading expertise, analytical thinking and tech-savviness as we are a diverse group of specialists. We are known for our great team spirit and efficient collaboration, which are key to running a 24/7 setup smoothly, as we rely on each other every step of the way.
Being part of our team as a student means more than just crunching data – you get to explore real energy markets, work with passionate people and see how curiosity can be a driver for your development.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you'll be working with data-driven insights and collaborating across teams, we imagine you’re someone who’s detail-oriented, curious, and confident navigating complexity. You’re also independent and outgoing, ready to connect with people across the organisation and make things happen. We expect you to bring a proactive mindset and take ownership in a fast-paced environment where your contributions truly matter in the team.
We also imagine that you:
- are studying Economics, Finance, Mathematics or another related field
- have experience with Excel – or are curious to learn
- show great attention to detail and structure
- can work approximately 15-20 hours a week
- are proficient in English – both written and verbal
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
