Danske Commodities chosen as optimisation partner for one of the biggest BESS projects in the UK
Danske Commodities has been chosen as one of the optimisation partners for Hunterston BESS. The battery storage asset is developed by Revera Energy, backed by global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG).
Once operational, Hunterston BESS will have a capacity of 400 MW/800 MWh, making it one of the biggest BESS projects in the UK. Danske Commodities will provide trading and optimisation services through a long-term revenue floor.

Earlier this year, Revera Energy selected Danske Commodities as the optimisation partner for the 400 MWh battery Windyhill BESS. The agreement marked Danske Commodities’ biggest battery deal at the time, and the partnership with Revera Energy is now expanding.

Danske Commodities currently manages a contract portfolio of 17 GW of renewables and flexible assets across Europe.
