Danske Commodities hires new VP for Asset Management
Danske Commodities has hired experienced industry profile Mikkel Hesselbæk as Vice President, Head of Asset Management effective as of 1 September 2026.
Mikkel Hesselbæk brings 20 years of experience from power markets and asset management, most recently as Head of Optimisation Portfolio Management at Centrica Energy. Prior to this, he has held senior roles at Vattenfall, in the utility sector and as an independent power market advisor.
At Danske Commodities, Mikkel Hesselbæk will be responsible for the energy trader’s sizeable asset portfolio, covering renewable technologies like wind, solar and hydro and flexible technologies like batteries, power-to-X and combined heat and power (CHP).

As Head of Asset Management, Mikkel Hesselbæk will take overall leadership of three portfolio teams, covering renewable assets, flexible assets and operations.

Danske Commodities’ contract portfolio currently consists of 17 GW of power from renewables and flexible assets.
