Senior security engineer
Ready to shape the future of cybersecurity and digital identities? Join Danske Commodities and help build secure, scalable solutions for a dynamic energy trading business!
Here’s what the job entails
As our new senior security engineer, you will help shape and execute Danske Commodities’ (DC) Identity and Access Management strategy while strengthening our overall operational security. You will work hands-on with our Microsoft-centric identity platforms, including Microsoft Entra ID and on-premises Active Directory, ensuring a secure and scalable hybrid identity environment.
Drawing on your expertise, you will introduce innovative security improvements and automation to modernise how we manage identities and access across the organisation. In doing so, you will play an important role in enabling DC’s growth by ensuring that our expanding business has the robust security controls and forward-looking solutions it needs – in a fast-paced environment where trust, reliability and security are business-critical.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
IAM strategy & ownership: co-own and develop DC’s identity and access management roadmap (in partnership with our current IAM lead) to continuously improve identity security
Identity platform management: administer and enhance core identity systems, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, maintaining a resilient hybrid identity architecture for our users
Access control & lifecycle automation: implement and streamline user lifecycle processes (joiner/mover/leaver automation) and enforce strong access controls (role-based access, privileged access management) across systems, upholding least-privilege principles
Security engineering & innovation: design and deploy new security solutions and tools, such as self-service IAM features, that modernise identity management, reduce manual effort and protect against emerging threats in close collaboration with the team’s software engineers
Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with IT operations, software developers and business units to embed security best practices into projects from the start, providing expert guidance so new systems and features are secure by design
Meet the team
As our new senior security engineer, you will join our Security Engineering team of five skilled and motivated security and software engineers. The team works closely with stakeholders across the organisation to protect DC’s digital assets, identities and data.
We take our work seriously, but we also believe in creating a supportive environment where new ideas are welcomed, knowledge is shared and having fun is part of the job.
Good security doesn’t hinder growth – it makes it possible
But enough about us… over to you!
We are looking for a skilled security engineer who combines solid technical expertise with an innovative mindset and enjoys taking ownership and driving improvements. We imagine that you work independently when needed, but that you are also a team player who values collaboration and knowledge sharing. Curious by nature, you stay updated on new technologies and have the judgement to balance security requirements with business practicality.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
have a solid background in IT/security, with at least three years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering roles
possess deep expertise in Microsoft identity and security technologies, especially Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, including hands-on experience managing hybrid identity environments across cloud and on-premises platforms
bring broad cybersecurity knowledge across domains beyond IAM (network, endpoint, cloud security, etc.), enabling you to design holistic security solutions that improve our overall security posture
have strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to translate complex security concepts into practical advice for colleagues and work cross-functionally to achieve security goals
are fluent in English (our corporate language), enabling you to communicate effectively in our international environment.
