Cross commodity trader
Are you a capable trader with experience in analysing the European power market, turning insight into strategies and trading the forward markets? And are you motivated to keep developing your edge?
Here’s what the job entails
As a cross commodity trader, you will trade and manage a portfolio of spark spread options across the European power and gas markets – and you will actively contribute to portfolio performance while further developing your fundamentally anchored approach to trading. You will gain valuable experience with contributing to portfolio balancing, risk management and identifying trading opportunities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
developing an in-depth understanding of European power markets, including market design, price formation, generation stack dynamics, and across market segments
trading the forward European power, gas and carbon markets, analysing and seeking out new opportunities and trends
executing trades with proven trading strategies and risk tolerances
managing, monitoring and complying with risk exposure
continuously refining and developing trading strategies based on market insights and performance
Meet the team
You will join our Cross Commodity team, where we manage a portfolio of clean spark spread options. We are an experienced team of two traders, supported by a data scientist and a data engineer. We’re passionate about trading the European energy markets, always on the lookout for new developments, whether we talk details about the power stack, geopolitical risks or improvements to our model and trading framework.
You will work alongside skilled traders on trading a growing portfolio of spark spread structures across the European Energy markets – and your impact matters.
But enough about us… over to you!
We are looking for someone who takes a curious and coolheaded approach when analysing data and making trading decisions. You stay curious about what moves the power stack, and you turn insight into better trades over time. As we operate in an ever-changing market, you should also have a positive view and be ready to take on new challenges – and it is key that you are open to learn how we work and collaborate in the team.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
hold a relevant educational background within Portfolio Management, Economics, Engineering or similar
have at least three years’ experience from a similar role, where you have demonstrated the ability to develop trading views and translate them into profitable strategies
have experience trading the forward European energy markets – and ideally exposure to the UK power market and/or options as well
are open to work from the Copenhagen office
