At this year’s DC Days, we enjoyed a thought-provoking talk from Svend Brinkmann and had the opportunity to sit back and get to know our colleagues even better. The trip offered everything from dinners and dancefloors, spinning and spa to an intimate concert with Bathsheba — it even included a dodgeball tournament!
Investing in renewables during the energy crisis
Ramping up on renewable energy plays an important role in making Europe less dependent on imported gas and in ensuring that we reach our climate targets. In this episode we invite Danske Commodities’ Head of European Origination, Jens Tang, and Renewables Development Origination Manager, Dirk Kaiser, into the studio to look at what needs to be in place before a wind farm or solar park can be built and how the energy crisis has affected investments in green energy sources.
It requires extreme dedication and the most sophisticated technology to be able to analyse the fundamentals that make up the foundation of a trade. But most of all, it requires remarkable people.
Meet Jakob Hauberg Møller
Meet Jakob. Every year, he helps his family with the summer harvest, processing more than 750 hectares of barley, wheat, rape, oats and beans.
Liquidity is key when energy prices soar
As the energy crisis drove prices of gas and power to extreme levels during 2022, market participants experienced an unprecedented pressure on liquidity. But how does it feel to be the one that has to secure a company’s liquidity when energy prices soar? We have invited Head of Treasury, Helle Fiskbæk Andreassen, and Head of Treasury & Credit Risk Management, Rasmus Steffensen, to talk about how they experienced the historical year of 2022.
Meet Pernille. When she’s not assessing risk for our renewables portfolio, she’s jumping over sky-high obstacles on the back of a horse.

And we also get the more personal story of how he relocated from Denmark to Singapore with his family, and what he has learned from that experience.
Danske Commodities entered the US energy markets in 2019, and since then the US business has grown significantly. But what makes the US markets so attractive for a European energy trading company like Danske Commodities? How does trading in the US differ from trading in Europe? And what are the long-term plans for Danske Commodities in the US? Find out in this episode, where our guests are Thor Kalstrup, Head of US, and Anders Damm, Head of US Short Term Power Trading.

How Companies Go Green with Corporate Power Purchase Agreements
Climate awareness is growing among big companies — and consumers are expecting corporates to do their part in the fight against climate changes. In this episode, Danske Commodities’ Senior Sustainability Specialist, Rikke Toudahl Hansen, and Head of Origination, Marco Verspuij, discuss how cPPAs work, and why the interest in them is rising fast.
When we talk about the energy transition, we usually talk about wind farms and solar parks — but gas plays an increasingly important role in our common journey towards more green energy. In this episode of ‘Behind the screens’ with Danske Commodities’
Head of Power Markets Analysis, Martin Juhl, and Quantitative Gas Trader Mikkel Jensen, explain where our energy comes from when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow.
How can you be sure that the power you consume is actually green? One way is through buying a certificate – the so-called Guarantees of Origin – that connects the power you use to a renewable energy source. At Danske Commodities, we trade Guarantees of Origin as well as other environmental products. But how do they work, what drives the market, and what role do they play in the energy transition?
The answers to these questions – and more – are given to you by Danske Commodities’ Head of Climate Markets Casper Elgaard and Senior Business Developer Alexandra Münzer.
