Fun fact: I have a hunter's license
I’m born and bred in the Mid-Western part of Jutland, out in the middle of nowhere where wild deer roam freely. If you ask people from my childhood/youth what I would aspire in, most would probably agree that it would include talking - a lot. With both my Bachelor's and Master's degree, I have focused on Communication and IT, and I use my eloquence to ‘translate’ IT into laymen’s terms. I started in DC on a one-year project contract as a Project/Test Coordinator on the biggest project in DC's history (so far) and after seven months, I was offered permanent employment. After approximately one year on the project, I got the opportunity to transfer to the Infrastructure team where I reside now.
Getting the opportunity to be a part of the biggest project in DC (so far) and being part of something that would shape DC for many years to come, was the main driver for joining the DC family.
Kimie Sønderby Thomsen, IT Systems Engineer
I’m the only hen in the Infrastructure team and unlike most of my colleagues, I don’t know how to code (yet). I focus more on process optimisation and enabling the business to use our IT services in the best way.
I start the morning early and enjoy the first (of many) cup of coffee in silence. It is during these silent morning moments that I get to reflect and get a lot of good ideas for improvements of current processes and procedures. No day is the same, but generally I spend a lot of my time picking low hanging fruits that my more specialised colleagues don’t have the time for. Most of the time, I’m immersed in our Service Management system, where I optimise processes and mature our use of the system.
The best part of my job is working alongside greatly skilled people who would walk the extra mile to help me (and likewise) and also that I get to build bridges between IT and the core business.
The success of our company is built on having the brightest minds working across the entire organisation.
