Studying: Business Intelligence
Position: Business Analyst
Employed since: July 2016
Fun fact: I once qualified for and competed at the Danish National Championships in swimming
I was born and raised in Aalborg where I grew up in the suburbs with my parents and two younger sisters. In 2014, I moved to Aarhus to study Economics and Business Administration at Aarhus BSS, and after the first 1.5 year of my Bachelor's, I applied for a job at DC.
After studying for 1.5 years, I was ready to try out some theories in practice and experience the “real world.” A friend of mine told me about DC and the serious yet fun work environment and it immediately caught my interest. I applied for a job and was lucky enough to get it.
Lasse Lauridsen, Junior Dispatcher
I’m employed as a student worker in our Trade Support team. My everyday tasks are to support traders, which can entail anything from developing new ‘tools’ to making sure that the traded power is moved from one point to another. I’ve also been assigned the emergency phone, which provides trade support primarily during the night. I’m responsible for the emergency phone a week out of every month.
Furthermore, I’ve signed an internship contract with our Business Intelligence team where I’ll work on one of their major projects.
A day at work as a Dispatcher entails sitting alongside our Intraday Traders, where I follow a list of multiple fixed tasks and execute them as they’re due throughout my shift. Furthermore, I carry out different ad hoc tasks to support the traders as well as to ensure that automatic procedures run smoothly. In other words, my work day always consists of carrying out a lot of tasks at once.
When I’m on the emergency phone duty, I make sure that my computer is ready just before I go to bed, so when the traders call, I’m quickly able to help them.
Other work days are more project-orientated. On these days, I’m usually assigned a project that I manage and execute myself while also making sure to communicate with the traders traders involved in that specific project.
The spirit! It is incredibly fun to be on trading floor, because there is so much energy. You’re always motivated to do your absolute best.
