Fun fact: I flunked my tractor driver's license test (even though I was raised on a farm...)
I have always loved numbers, but I did not want to just study math. So, in my research for what to study I simply googled “mathematics economics”, and there was my answer: Mathematics-Economics at Aarhus University.
For several years I worked for another energy trading company, and it was time for me to see how risk monitoring also could be done. I wanted to enhance my skills, get deeper insights into a specific market area like gas, and at the same time put my knowledge to use in a new environment.
Lisbeth Lind Laursen, Market Risk Analyst
One of my main tasks is to monitor that our Gas business teams are within their given risk mandates. I am also involved in reassessing the current mandates, so that they are up to date with what the business teams' wants and needs, and the current risks in the market.
I have daily tasks like monitoring the positions of the gas portfolio, reporting on results for the business team, making sanity checks on the numbers.
I always have a focus on making the risk reporting even better. Besides that, there are always different ongoing projects related to the gas business area.
My colleagues. They inspire me a lot. My colleagues have different backgrounds, cultural and educational, so there is a lot to learn from them.
The success of our company is built on having the brightest minds working across the entire organisation.
