Education: Master's in International Management and Business Administration
Position: Trader, Short Term Gas Trading & Operations
Employed since: August 2019
Fun fact: I had lived in five different countries by the age of 26
After achieving a bachelor´s degree in Business Administration and a Master´s degree in International Management, I had a brief experience in the commodity trading sector in Lugano, Switzerland. After this experience I landed in DC as a trader trainee.
I thought it was the right company to learn as much as I can within the commodity trading sector. Plus, I was looking for a company as ambitious as I am, and since the first interview the values and the will to improve were very clear to me. I saw myself in the company for long time.
Silvio La Tassa, Trader
I am part of the Short Term Trading and Operations. We trade the financial products with the shortest delivery time, which ranges from the current day to the current month, for almost every country in Europe, as well as the operational activities that include how the gas is physically transported from point A to point B.
There is no such thing as typical work day in European gas trading, especially in short term gas trading. However, my work entails the creation of value through time spread and cross-boarder trading, the strategies for the upcoming days and covering the 24/7 shift rotation.
The work is always different and you must be as flexible as you can to react to the market changes. What happened yesterday does not count anymore and the close deadlines require clear mind and swift decisions.
The success of our company is built on having the brightest minds working across the entire organisation.
