Senior compliance specialist

Show job details

Do you enjoy complexity, different responsibilities and working with stakeholders? Are you experienced in compliance and managing external regulatory enquiries? And would you like to use your legal and compliance skills to add value in one of Europe’s leading energy trading companies? If so, this is the right place for you!

The job

Here’s what the job entails

In the role, you will handle compliance cases, for example, during inspections by authorities or enquiries from trading venues and regulatory requirements. You will also be an important sparring partner to your colleagues on compliance matters

Concretely, your responsibilities will include:

  • managing external regulatory enquiries from beginning to end, collecting necessary documentation and writing clear, detailed responses
  • keeping up to date with regulatory changes related to trading compliance, in particular REMIT, MAR, EMIR and MiFID regulation
  • acting as a trusted advisor to the business, simplifying complex regulations into practical advice
  • turning regulatory requirements into actions
  • leading compliance training for relevant teams, giving them the knowledge and tools to meet regulatory standards
  • advising on competition law matters
The team

Meet the team

You will join our compliance team, which manages Danske Commodities’ compliance programme. This includes both business ethics and compliance with energy and financial regulations. We support the entire organisation  and work closely with stakeholders from our commercial activities.

The Compliance team is part of the Legal & Compliance business unit and consists of five specialists focused on trading compliance and business ethics. We are a dedicated team that takes pride in high-quality work, and we also enjoy having fun and participating in social events together.

In this role, you will have plenty of opportunities to grow and take responsibility for managing your own tasks and cases.
Your qualifications

But enough about us… over to you!

As you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation and manage compliance matters independently, we picture you as an outgoing team player who thrives on responsibility and works in a structured manner.

We also imagine that you:

  • have a relevant educational background in Law
  • have at least five years’ experience with compliance and regulatory matters. Experience and knowledge of competition law and the financial sector are also a plus, but not a requirement.
  • have experience (or an interest) in energy regulations such as REMIT, MAR, EMIR and/or MiFID II
  • are proficient in English - both written and verbal

Please note that it is not a requirement to have prior knowledge of the energy industry to enter this role.
