And would you like to contribute to the digitalisation and automation journey of a global energy company? If so, grab this opportunity to become a student employee for Power Trading Operations!

The job

Here’s what the job entails

In the role, your main task will be to support the power trading teams with their daily tasks on a shift-based schedule. As you develop, you will also have the opportunity to maintain numerous business tools with a great focus on process optimisation.

Your responsibilities include:

  • scheduling and balancing internal and external electricity flows
  • continuously communicating with internal stakeholders, external counterparties and power exchanges
  • supporting traders and the rest of the organisation by meeting deadlines for over 500 daily operational tasks
  • taking part in dynamic shift rotations from 07:00-14:00 and 14:00-20:15 to keep operations running smoothly every day of the year
  • potentially participating in a 24/7 on-call duty scheme in the long run
The team

Meet the team

As our new student employee, you will join our Power Trading Operations team, where we act as the operational experts in Danske Commodities. This role provides great insight into our systems, as well as market dynamics in the energy sector, which gives us a significant role in the organisation’s continuous digitalisation and automation journey.

In the team, we have an informal atmosphere, where we enjoy balancing professional work with fun activities. This includes getting together for padel tennis tournaments, dinners, boardgames – and everything in between. We are a team of young and innovative people who take pride in motivating, supporting and challenging each other. And with a mix of student and full-time employees, our team has a great dynamic.

You will be working directly on the trading floor, acting as the link between trading and the rest of the organisation
Your qualifications

But enough about us… over to you!

As you will join a team that operates in a dynamic market, we are looking for someone who has a positive mindset, sees opportunities where others see problems and is eager to support both big and small tasks. Besides, we see you as curious by nature and willing to learn more about our field.

We also expect that you:

  • are currently enrolled in a relevant education, for example, within Computer Science, Economics, Finance or Mathematics
  • are interested in learning the coding languages Python, SQL and VBA – or perhaps you already have some skills within one (or more) of these. We offer internal courses to support your learning.
  • can work approximately 20 hours a week

Please note that prior knowledge of the energy industry is not required for this role.
