
Junior quantitative analyst for short-term automated trading

Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will be part of a team that develops and maintain our algorithmic trading strategies. Your analytical background will be used to analyse problems and develop solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- assisting in developing and backtesting algorithmic trading strategies using machine learning and analytical models
- supporting the maintenance and enhancement of existing strategies and projects using Python programming
- analysing data to identify trading opportunities
- solving ad-hoc tasks related to trading or existing projects

You will join a team that specializes in developing and implementing algorithmic trading strategies for the electricity market. Our focus is on leveraging technology and data analysis to optimise trading performance.

As you will be working in a dynamic market environment, we imagine that you are able to keep an analytic outlook and think critically. We also expect that you encompass strong communication skills and can manage internal and external stakeholders alike.
We also imagine that you:
- are currently enrolled in an education within data science, computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field
- are proficient in Python
- have experience with machine learning techniques and frameworks
- are interested in financial markets and trading principles
- have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
