Here’s what the job entails
In the role, your primary function is to enable future growth by building automated, scalable and robust systems that ultimately work to support the integration and optimization of flexible energy assets. Further, you will drive operational excellence by ensuring streamlining of workflows, reduction of manual interventions and working towards a truly reliable solutions landscape.
Your key responsibilities include:
- developing and backtesting optimisation strategies using Python for flexible assets
- maintenance and improvement of existing models and tools to ensure performance and reliability
- ownership of specific projects or components and drive the process from design to implementation
- support the team with ad-hoc tasks and contribute to ongoing research and development
- participate in covering the shift phone
Meet the team
As a member of our team, you will contribute to core systems that are essential to unlocking the value of flexibility in the European energy markets. The purpose of the team is to write and maintain robust production code that enables real-time operation in complex and fast-moving markets. We design data driven systems that process large volumes of historical and live data to inform strategic market participation.
We are a curious and dedicated team always seeking to understand and improve the profitability of flexible assets in the Energy markets. The team consists of 10 specialists with various background within Physics, Mathematics Economics and Economics.
As a key player in our team, your work will drive Europe’s green transition. You will develop scalable, automated, and robust solutions that optimize cross-technology flexibility in the European energy markets. As you will be working with quantitative analysis and optimising our models, we imagine that you have a natural eye for improvement, are comfortable assessing risk factors and that you understand the value in evaluating multiple market factors when conducting market analyses.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
- hold a relevant educational background within data science, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- are at an expert level in Python and have experience with production-level code.
- can work analytically and with a strategic mindset
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
