Risk manager

Show job details

Skilled in risk management and curious about energy trading, global economics and finance? Join Danske commodities and help shape trading decisions that balance commercial opportunity with risk.

The job

Here’s what the job entails

In this role, you will work closely with our trading teams and use your risk expertise to challenge trading strategies and commercial decisions to optimise risk exposure. You will also collaborate with our Risk Modelling and Risk Control colleagues to ensure we stay on top of PnL and changes in risk metrics.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • delivering daily risk advisory through close, proactive collaboration with our trading teams
  • preparing monthly and quarterly management reports, as well as ad hoc risk assessments and stress scenario analysis
  • advising senior leaders across the business by aligning risk efforts and delivering clear, actionable recommendations

You will have the option to work from either our Aarhus or Copenhagen office

The team

Meet the team

As our new risk manager, you will join our Market Risk Management team, which helps our trading teams make informed decisions that strike the right balance between risk and reward. Our advice is driven by data and a deep understanding of market dynamics, which is why we work closely with commercial colleagues such as traders, business developers and originators.

We are a team of five risk managers and analysts with diverse backgrounds in tech and economics. With a strong focus on global and European market developments, we take a big-picture view and keep a close eye on financial and energy markets.

This is a rare chance to influence market risk across European energy trading in one of the industry’s leading companies.
Your qualifications

But enough about us… over to you!

Since you will be working with colleagues across the business, we are looking for someone with great stakeholder management skills who enjoys taking the lead when needed. We also picture you as someone who is great at grasping the full overview and understands energy trading, global economics and finance well enough to spotting patterns and confidently challenging our trading teams in their decisions.

We also imagine that you:

  • hold a relevant educational background in Economics, Finance or a technical field
  • have at least four years’ experience in a similar position such as risk management, trading or portfolio management
  • are proficient in derivative valuation, including options and risk analysis (such as VaR, CFaR and Greeks)
  • have experience coding in SQL and using advanced Excel
  • are proficient in English – both written and spoken
