Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will develop and continuously improve Danske Commodities’ data platform to support data-driven decisions across the organisation. You will act as both a driver and enabler of innovation, that builds the toolset that allows others to leverage data effectively on a global scale.
Your key responsibilities include:
- developing and maintaining data platform components offered as a service to your colleagues
- defining data engineering best practices and building tools that make these standards easy to adopt
- supporting end-user integration layers and ensuring platform usability across business areas

You will join a collaborative team of 15 dedicated specialists in data engineering, software development and advanced analytics. Together, we build and maintain a top-tier enterprise data platform that enables smarter and faster decision-making across the business. We are looking for a skilled engineer who is eager to build scalable, forward-thinking platforms and make a real difference to the business. We also picture you as a collaborative teammate who takes pride in helping others succeed and brings a holistic view and a growth mindset to the table.
We also imagine that you:
- hold a relevant educational background in data engineering or computer science
- have 5+ years of experience building solid and scalable data platforms in a similar position
- are proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, C# or SQL and are skilled with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop and streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
- have expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, for instance MSSQL and MongoDB and cloud data solutions such as Databricks and Snowflake
- bring experience in building and automating ETL/ELT pipelines, using tools like Apache Airflow, Prefect and Dagster and applying data orchestration techniques
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
