Here’s what the job entails

In this role, you will support the US Short Term Power Trading team with market analyses and data visualisation tools and thereby gain valuable insights into the US energy market.

Concretely, your responsibilities include:

  • conducting market analyses and testing market hypotheses using Python and SQL
  • support day-to-day trading activities
  • building and maintaining data visualisation tools by using Python

Meet the team

As our new junior quantitative analyst, you will join our US Short Term Power Trading Team, where we trade day-to-day power across large parts of the US. You will join a dedicated team of four colleagues who constantly strive to motivate, support and challenge each other. We have a curious mindset and an innovative approach to problem-solving, and we are always looking to improve our strategies and processes.

You will have the chance to take on significant responsibilities from your first day and work in a field that is constantly evolving!
Your qualifications

As you will be responsible for your own projects, we see you as a detail-oriented and analytical person who always investigates ways to optimise and approaches challenges from different angles.

We also imagine that you:

  • are currently enrolled in a relevant education, such as finance, economics, natural sciences, computer science or a similar area
  • are interested in using the coding languages Python and SQL – perhaps already have some coding skills
  • can work approximately 15-20 hours per week
  • are proficient in English – both written and verbal
