The job

Here’s what the job entails

In the role, your primary function will be to collaborate with business stakeholders and other data engineers to discover new data features and data products, leveraging the billions of data points we process every day. We imagine that you will elevate the team by sharing knowledge, suggesting new solutions and challenging the way we do things today.  

 

More specifically, your responsibilities include: 

  • Collaboration with key stakeholders from analysis teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end data pipelines

  • working closely with stakeholders to enhance the value proposition by identifying and scoping new tasks based on their requirements

  • maintenance and continuous improvement of products within the portfolio as well as the support of our data platforms

  • reviewing code from other team members, sharing insights both within the immediate team and across the data engineering community in Danske Commodities

  • assessment and implementation of new technologies into relevant tools to benefit business stakeholders and support your own professional growth 

  • mentoring and coaching of team members in technology, empowering them to achieve excellence

The team

Meet the team

You will join the Automated Trading & Quantitative Technology team, and we work with end-to-end data pipelines with both on-prem and cloud technologies. Our primary responsibility is to deliver solutions to trading analysts and quantitative analysts, where we provide data used in pre-trade analysis, and to develop data features for existing and new machine learning models.   

We are a team of 25 software and data engineers, that enjoys getting together for dinners, paddle matches, mini golf tournaments – and not least, our epic DC parties. Everyone in the team enjoys a high degree of flexibility in designing a workday that matches their personal preferences. The team are a curious and motivated bunch – curious about each other, about the DC business model and, of course, about anything related to data and analytics. Our culture is informal and always with value creation at the forefront of everything we do.

Your qualifications

As you will be working closely with business stakeholders, and driving change within the team, we seek an individual with exceptional collaboration and influencing skills, capable of navigating complex organisational dynamics to deliver impactful solutions.  

Furthermore, we imagine that you:  

  • have experience challenging and managing senior stakeholders regarding technical solutions 

  • are on the forefront of technical solutions and see that value in sharing knowledge  

  • have a minimum of 5 years’ experience from a similar position  

  • are proficient in Microsoft SQL, Python, C# or Rust 

  • are knowledgeable about Azure and Databricks 

  • are curious about the domain and the technical solutions to the data engineering requirements 

Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
