Senior quantitative developer
Are you a seasoned Quantitative Developer with a knack for low-latency, high-throughput systems? We offer a chance to lead a project, tackling trading problems with scalable software solutions
Here’s what the job entails
In the role, you will act as a Senior Quantitative Developer within the Gas & Power eTrading team. Your primary function will be to drive the design and development of low-latency, high-throughput trading systems and well-optimised algorithms in close collaboration with the algorithmic software development team.
Concretely, your responsibilities will include:
- developing low-latency event-driven trading systems used for algorithmic execution, consuming vast amounts of data, while still ensuring high performance, stability and scalability.
- improving current core systems, proposing new ideas and implementing additional functionalities for our trading platform.
- building and maintaining high-speed exchange connectivity across different markets by integrating network protocols and APIs.
- designing and implementing multithreaded and distributed architecture, including order routing, execution and risk management.
- taking part in research platform development that aims to train, test, monitor and simulate quantitative trading strategies.
Meet the team
You will join the Gas & Power eTrading team that unifies, streamlines and improves DC execution capabilities across commercial units. The team has a cross-market focus and aims to scale up execution activities across different asset classes and products.
We are a team of quantitative developers working closely with software developers, data engineers, traders and other quantitative teams. We are curious, dedicated and highly analytical, and we apply a scientific approach to problem-solving and challenge current approaches by exploring and testing new ideas. Everyone in the team has market exposure and a significant impact on trading success.
You will get the unique opportunity to join a fully automated front office electronic trading team, developing low-touch algorithms and centralising execution activities across our company, which has industry-leading expertise and trades across +40 markets.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will be working with many different employees across teams, we picture you as someone who thrives when working closely with others and is motivated to work in a dynamic environment. At the same time, we are looking for someone who is confident working independently and is eager to take responsibility for the operational side of the trading platform and live algorithms.
We also imagine that you:
- have an advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- have +5 years of experience writing state of the art, production grade code using either C++, Rust, Java or C#, and ideally some knowledge of Python.
- have expertise in the development of stable and scalable low-latency infrastructure.
- have experience with OO design principles and best engineering practices in a high-performance environment.
- have excellent attention to detail and accuracy and a thorough understanding of full life-cycle development and performance optimisation and latency reduction methodologies.
- have electronic Trading experience from banking, asset management or proprietary trading companies – or are eager to learn
- have sound knowledge of quantitative trading or market microstructure
