Here’s what the job entails
Your primary function will be to provide value to your commercial colleagues (trading, origination, portfolio management) and to your risk colleagues based in Aarhus, Denmark.
You will act as key Risk representative, ensuring that risk mandates are followed and that commercial stakeholders receive insight into market risks arising from price and volatility changes.
Your key responsibilities include:
- understanding, explaining and reflecting on PnL changes, risk capital utilization changes, and risk-adjusted performance
- assessing key market risks arising from price or volatility changes, including regulatory, macro-economic and related risks
- ensuring smooth operation, reporting and analysis within of regular reporting packages and risk-specific tasks
Meet the team
As our new Risk Specialist, you will join our Market Risk Management team located in Denmark, serving as the Risk representative in our office in São Paulo.
The team ensures that commercial teams understand the risks associated with trading operations. As the second line of defense, we support trading teams in minimizing or optimizing their risk–reward ratio.
Transparency between the Brazilian and European teams is key to us, and we actively share information and knowledge across borders.
We are a team of six people with diverse backgrounds in mathematics, economics, and engineering — proving that varied expertise drives stronger performance.

Since you’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, we’re looking for someone with strong stakeholder management skills and a holistic mindset — someone who enjoys taking the lead when needed. You should be able to see the bigger picture, understand energy trading, global economics, and finance, and use that insight to spot patterns and confidently challenge trading decisions.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
Hold a relevant educational background e.g. in mathematics, statistics, economics or finance
- have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- possess strong knowledge of risk concepts, risk quantification and statistics, with a solid foundation in probability
- is quantitatively skilled in SQL and Excel
- are proficient in English – both spoken and written
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
